New 1 hour Fire Rated and Acoustic Door

Pyropanel’s recently launched acoustic door is now available in a fire rated version.  Building designers and owners are keen to see an improved acoustic performance of their buildings to provide both privacy and functionality.  With the increase in higher density living, the lack of sound privacy is one of the major complaint. The often forgotten factor with noise is that if you can hear your neighbours, then they can probably hear you.  Building designers who reviewed our new acoustic door released three months ago, liked the reduced weight and the unique core. They challenged Pyropanel to develop a fire rated version, recognised under the NCC and tested to current fire test standards. Pyropanel is now in a position to release its fire rated acoustic door to complement its non-fire rated acoustic door.  This new release offers the next level of performance doors with an FRL achieving -/60/60 on the door leaf and frame.

Space, privacy, safety, form and function are of utmost importance to building designers and owners.  The increase in demand for higher performance doors in apartments, hotels and institutional buildings is becoming more paramount in design briefs.  It is crucial to provide optimal comfort, well-being and safety in building spaces.

The entry or separating door is an integral component of any acoustic design.  Being an openable component, it is most probably the weakest link if not designed or installed properly.  To achieve the desired acoustic performance of your building, it is vital to have the right door-set specified and installed to stop unwanted transmission of sound.

The fire rated and acoustic door market has grown significantly as all key stake holders demand improved performance.  Pyropanel have been at the forefront of design and testing fire and acoustic doors for over 30 years.  To continue to be market leaders, Pyropanel has designed and tested a new fire rated and acoustic door.  This new product has been developed using European sourced materials and technologies.

Feedback from presentations to building design professionals has been extremely positive, as well as feedback from Pyropanel’s Australia-wide licenced manufacturing base.
